On Saturday, July 8, 2017 Bushido Garvey will be performing at the third installment of the monthly hip-hop event. The night starts with pure vibes, as 4 of the best local hip hop producers will showcase some of their latest work. This includes D-Rock, A Kid Called Quest, SP, and SMD.

Once everyone’s settled get the lineup will start consisting of the crew “The Castoffz”, Bushido Garvey (yours truly), SMD who will be performing all unreleased new cuts off of his upcoming album, which we’re all excited to hear, Rochester’s illest female emcee, Golden,  M Dot Coop, Volatile, Kes, and finally The Level 7 Experience a full hip hop band!

Title: NYCore (New York Collective of Radical Educators) Conference: “Divided No More: Allies in Classrooms and Beyond”

What happens when, in efforts to ‘fight the power,’ we end up fighting each other and thus squander the power that we need to make a real difference in students’ lives?  Bushido Garvey, Jennifer Banister, Kaylynn Brown, and Mary Adams will share developing insights from their work as part of a broad collaborative effort to end the school-to-prison pipeline and transform school climate in Rochester, NY.  The highly interactive workshop will identify obstacles and conflicts among “natural allies” in school transformation work, and encourage deeper analyses and skills helpful in overcoming sticking points among groups to build solidarity and effectively work together for radical transformation in schools.

The purpose of this event is to encourage folks to keep their holiday shopping dollars local & Black so we can continue the work of strengthening our community
